Sometimes people look for a reason to have their pictures taken: graduating from high school or college, pregnancy, new baby, engagement, anniversary, wedding, etc.  Those are wonderful reasons, however, I think that we need no better reason to have a special professionally done photo shoot than being alive!  Don’t you agree?

Why wait for a special occasion?  Our life is filled with spectacular moments worth celebrating.  Celebrate life!  Celebrate your family!  Celebrate your talents and passions!  Celebrate being you!  These reasons are good enough for me!

This passed weekend I had a very special shoot with a young lady who holds the same view on this–she wanted to get out, have fun, and celebrate her!  I am all up for that.

After having photographed an amazing maternity session in Longview and Woodland WA, I took a few hour break, reloaded, prayed for the rain to stop and headed out to my evening session with Alla.  The rain was coming on and off, but we were able to steal a few gorgeous moments that otherwise would not be possible to create because of it. It made me remember again that behind every cloud there is sunshine :)

longview wa family photographer Well, there you have it–don’t wait to celebrate life!  Alla didn’t and she was happy for it [and so was I].  Now she is planning on deciding which picture she will print life-size to put on her wall.  Which one do you think?

Alla, you are a doll, and a lovely one at that.  There is so much you can do in life, you just have to take a pick and then stick with it.  I am sure you will be successful as long you keep the same smile on your face and sunshine in your your heart.

I woke up today, very slightly worried that the weather will force us to cancel a maternity session that I have been anticipating for a long time.  The gorgeous couple, Whitney and Matt, I was going to photograph was driving in all the way from Seattle  WA to Longview WA and it made me sick to my stomach to think that we would have to reschedule.  When Demetrye [my hubby] saw my concern he tried to calm my fears: “It will be alright, baby,” he said and then prayed for the rain not to come.  Thank God his prayers were heard.  The weather was fabulous!   It was overcast, no sun, but no rain either [although I went out and bought the biggest umbrella I could find in town].

While I am getting ready for my next session today, I picked out a few of my favorite shots from the maternity shoot [it's all about bellies ;) ] and wanted to share them with the world and with the happy couple.  Matt and Whitney will make the sweetest parents–they are both so kind, gentle and nothing but smiles.  [Guys, you were such a pleasure to work with!]

Enjoy!

I finally had a few minutes to download my favorite images of our 7 Year Anniversary from my trusted Canon PowerShot [I love having this little camera with me at all times!  I will never lose another precious moment!].

We started off uneventfully by driving to Vancouver, WA.   However, a trip for us is NEVER uneventful!  You have to hang around my hubby long enough to understand what I am saying… just look at him.

Then I got bored staring at the road and… became a little self-absorbed :)

We stopped by Panera Bread for a bite to eat [does not sound romantic?! you are wrong!!!   you should have seen Demetrye patiently waiting on me while I had an on-line meeting with my Nutrition Forum].

Then we stopped by a book store–we are admittedly book worms and we love it!  We love to spend our time together reading and talking about what we read.  Got to love a smart man!!! ;)

Then we headed over to watch Letters to God movie.  It was a good thing that we took this picture beforehand.  There was hardly a dry eye in the theater by the time we got out.  The movie is worth every penny.  You should really go see it.

Afterward we grabbed a snack and stopped to visit one of our favorite couples of all times–my niece and nephew and their little kiddos.   We had a great time and then we were off and finished our day driving home, holding hands, smiling and loving each other.

The day after Demetrye gave me a card that brought tears to my eyes–he is amazing at picking cards like that.  I will have to take a picture of it and post it here soon.

7 years?  I can hardly believe that we had been a man and wife ;) this long.  Time flew by and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us.  We have been through so much together and our love for each other has only grown stronger.

I love you, babe!
