My Kind of Guy, Longview WA Photographer

Posted on February 4, 2010

I have fallen for this guy in 2001 and have been in love with him ever since.  I can tell you that there is no other one like him anywhere else in the world.  I am so glad he chased me until I caught him.  One of our friends calls him HC [for Hot Chocolate], although I could not agree with her more, I call him my one and only true love—my loving hubby :)  He makes my world go around.

HC

Love you, babe!

Playing with my Birthday Present

Posted on February 2, 2010

Last night I finally received my birthday present, and I can tell you that there was no end to my excitement: brand spanking new Canon PowerShot SD780 IS with HD video!

41iaa0gWa6L

I played with it for less than an hour last night but today was a whole new day ;) .  I had to self-test it, of course :) .  I absolutely loved the results: sharp, yet forgiving to facial skin–every girl’s dream.

780_2Now there will be no stopping this crazy Point-and-Shoot photographer!  [Dear Clients, fear not!  I won't test it on you.]  She is on the move!  [My poor hubby, you can only imagine how petrified he is that I now can take snaps of him ANYWHERE ;) ].

On a different note, SENIORS, you are getting very close to graduation.  You will be staying busy with all of your graduation projects, so make sure not to forget about your own very special, once in a life time photo shoot!  Call to book ASAP!  You can reach me at 360-355-7360, or e-mail me through the Contact page.

Hello beautiful people! I had a wonderful session with a gorgeous Kelso High School senior today [Kelso, WA].  It was cold, and it was raining, but when you see these images you will never believe it.

Zarina came to meet me early today.  We did her hair, make up, went through her outfits and headed out for a rainy session.  Zarina is absolutely gorgeous–she looks like she came off of the pages of a magazine. But she is also absolutely brilliant.  She already picked out a college to go to and will major in Arts.

Here are a few of my favorite images from our session.

ZarI_001Love the colors: red, white and blue!

ZarI_003The shoes were quite something!  Just look at them.

ZarI_004Looking like a supermodel [which she is in my book].

ZarI_007The outfit on the image below looks absolutely amazing and it was our spur-of-the-moment creation.  Doesn’t it belong in a fashion magazine?

ZarI_009And then we went a little retro with the scarf.  Just watch–we will bring it back and make it popular again.

ZarI_010Zarina, you were a trooper to weather the cold and a joy to work with.  My your path lay straight before you!

Yesterday was my birthday.  It was amazing!  Demetrey took care of the breakfast, then we spiffed up and headed out to Vancouver, WA [bigger town than Longview, so there are certainly more things to do there ;) ].  But before we took off Demetrye treated me to my own mini photo session. Elena_2010_BDY_001And, of course, we had to do it right and do a few shots together [timer and a tripod come in helpful].

Elena_2010_BDY_011[I love him, love him, love him... and he is handsome to boot ;) ].

Then we headed out.  Had a great lunch, hung out at a book store [my choice, and we both love books], and then went to see Avatar in 3D.  Wowzers!  The movie is long, but I could not tell, because I was so sucked into it.  I would go see it again in a heartbeat… as long as I don’t have to pay for ridiculously expensive 3D tickets, however, yesterday it was so worth it.

After the movie we headed back to town… and things got even more interesting.  We were passing through Woodland when I noticed, what I thought, a woman walking on the side of the freeway, alone… in the dark.  Demetrye and I pulled over and waited for the “woman” to catch up.  Well, thankfully, it was not a woman walking alone.  It was a man, who was hitch-hiking from LA to Belinghelm, WA [sorry if I spelled the town wrong].  So, we decided that the guy should not freeze himself and gave him a ride to the local shelter.  However… on the way we decided to stop by a Subway and get him a meal.  We were going to be in and out, so I left my purse in the car, made sure that the car was locked and we headed inside.

The man picked his meal, and as Demetrye was getting ready to pay for it, his facial expression changed.  “Where are the keys, hon?”  Ah-oh!  Since we got married we locked our keys in the car twice and ever since then I always made sure to have a spare on ME.  This time… nope.  I thought we’ll in and out and I would rather not drag my person with me.  BIG MISTAKE!  Turns out that Demetrye left the keys in the ignition and I did not even do my usual: “Honey, do you have the keys?” check before getting out of the car.  Ouch!

Well, thankfully I have very skilled family members, all within minutes away.  And THANKFULLY we were already in Kelso, only minutes from home.  I called up my nephew [thank you, Adrew], and while the man was enjoying his meal, Andrew and Demetrye freed the keys.

Surely not a night we would easily forget!

When we got home, Demetrye spoiled me a bit more and gave me a full body massage, and I nearly fell asleep dreaming of the gift he is getting me this year: Canon Powershot SD780IS with HD video!!!  Sounds silly, but I am so excited to get a point and shoot camera, especially considering that it has video capabilities also.  I don’t like to drag my Canon around with me everywhere now–too big and too heavy just for snapshots.  Once I get my tiny P&S I will be unstoppable :) .

I hate to think that my perfect weekend is coming to an end.
