I often get inspired by the books and blogs I read. Today I was not only inspired, but pushed, challenged and motivated to think outside the box. I read a small book called: Whatever you think, think the opposite, by Paul Arden. It took me whopping 32 mins and 32 seconds to complete it (the only reason I know the exact time is because I was reading it while working out at the gym). By the time I was done with cardio part of my work-out I felt like I could climb a mountain. If you are looking for something to push you out of a rot, this little book is worth investing in.
Here is one of my favorites:
I hope that we all can have the courage to be different, to stand out of the crowd, to be original, and to celebrate differences of others around us.

Juliana was a friend of ours. When we met her about a year and a half ago she was battling cancer. It started out as breast-cancer, but then spread through her entire body. She was given only 6 months to live. Miraculously, however, she made it passed the two year mark. Until the last moment she was hoping for a miracle. Unfortanately, she died in the Spring of last year. Her death was devastating to her family. I am so glad that I was able to capture her, as she was: tired yet strong in her faith, and leave these photos as a memory for them.
Remembering Juliana I do not grieve, because I am certain that she is in a better place. Remembering her, however, makes me realize that our life is but only a moment on the grand scale of eternity. We are here but for only a second and then we are gone. I want to live my life in such a fashion, that no matter when I go, I will have no regrets leaving this earth. I want to know that I had done all that I was given to do, I loved passionately, and dreamed without boundaries.

I know it might look a bit narcissistic, but I have a few more favorites from my birthday shoot-off that I want to share. Demetrye did such a wonderful job capturing them (the ones that he did), I feel the need to share my excitement.

We took a few shots of ourselves, as we made it our tradition to do so on every special occasion.
And then it was my time to shine… And so I did in all my goofiness.
But then I wisened up and took more “lady-like” pictures. I think that Demetrye did a great job with the camera.

And here is THE MAN himself:
After pictures he took me out to a wonderful local vegan restaurant, and then we went to see a movie. The evening ended on a beautiful note as we drove home and he serenaded me with The Carpenters sond: Close to you. Here are the lyrics:
