I met Tasha’s Mom, Desiree in my power yoga class several months ago.  We quickly became acquainted and later Demetrye and I had an opportunity to meet her husband, Matt.  They are absolutely amazing… and they are high school sweet hearts.  As I chit-chatted with Desiree before our classes I found out that she has three beautiful girls, one of whom is getting married this summer.  Being that I am a photographer I immediately told her that I am wide open for that date… but, alas! it was too late–they already hired a photographer for the wedding.  What a pleasant surprise it was when about a week and a half ago, Desiree told me that they want to hire me to do Tasha’s engagement session.  I was more than happy to do it.  Let me show you why.

Jon & Tasha, you are as beautiful inside as you are outside.  I wish you ALL THE BEST in your life together.  May your romance grow stronger every day!

I had a wonderful privilege to shoot an engagement session for an amazingly beautiful couple today.   Unfortunately for me, by the time I met them, they had already found a photographer to shoot their wedding.  But I was fortunate enough to capture their engagement love story.

Here is a quick preview of their session.

With all wonderful family events I completely failed to post a follow-up on my husband’s adventures.  The team that went to CA had finished its trek in 2.5 days as opposed to 3.5 that was expected.  They drove through difficult terrain, in rain storms and blazing sun, arriving to CA early noon on my sweetheart’s birthday—6/6/2009.  I was so excited to hear that all went well, although I was sad that I was not with Demetrye to celebrate his birthday [it was the first time we did not celebrate his b-day together since we met].  But… he was back in my arms, and I in his, the following night—he got home just passed midnight.

We are yet to get out and celebrate his birthday the way we normally do, but I did get him a special gift—The Cosby Show (all 8 seasons), and we have been watching it ever since.  Demetrye grew up watching this show and was absolutely thrilled to get his own collection.

I am so proud of Demetrye and the entire team.  I am just a bit worried now—they are starting to talk about taking a ride to… Alaska—that is over 2800 miles!

It is Finished!

Babies, babies, babies… In our family, no matter where you turn, you will be surrounded by them.  Just last week I found out that my sister Luba and her husband are now expecting, and the day before yesterday, we were graced by the birth of yet another tiny family member: Eliana.

My brother, Vladimir, barely made it home in time after last week’s wedding, but in time to welcome his 5th child, but first daughter, into the family.  We all are so happy!

Vladimir and Vera, congratulations!!!  You have such a pretty little girl.
